- 1 head Wirsing cabbage
- 500 grams ground beef
- 250 grams lasagna noodles
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 200 grams ricotta cheese
- 100 grams grated cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, blanch the Wirsing cabbage leaves in boiling water until soft.
- In a baking dish, layer the ingredients starting with a layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles and Wirsing leaves. Repeat the process.
- Finish with ricotta cheese and top with grated cheese.
- Bake in the oven for about 30-40 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with lentils.
- Let the lasagne rest for 10 minutes before serving for better slicing.
