A rich and creamy chocolate mousse dessert that is easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams dark chocolate
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate over simmering water.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until pale and combined.
  4. Mix the melted chocolate into the egg mixture.
  5. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract to soft peaks.
  6. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until fully combined.
  7. In a clean bowl, whisk the egg whites to stiff peaks and gently fold into the mousse.
  8. Transfer to serving dishes and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use higher quality chocolate.
  • Make sure to fold the egg whites gently to maintain the mousse’s light texture.
