- 300 g granulated sugar
- 100 ml water
- 2 sheets gelatin
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- food coloring (optional)
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Soak the gelatin in cold water for about 10 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water, and bring to a boil until it reaches 120°C (248°F).
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Slowly pour the hot sugar syrup into the egg whites while whipping continuously.
- Add the soaked gelatin and vanilla extract, continuing to mix until well combined.
- Add food coloring if desired.
- Transfer the mixture to a piping bag and pipe it into heart shapes on a lined baking tray.
- Let the hearts set for several hours or until firm.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

- Keep the marshmallows in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
