This grapefruit marmalade is a delightful tangy spread that’s perfect for toast or pastries.

Ingredients

  • 4 large grapefruits
  • 1 lemon
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Wash the grapefruits and lemon thoroughly.
  2. Slice the grapefruits in half and juice them, reserving the seeds.
  3. Put the juice and the seeds in a cheesecloth bag.
  4. Chop the grapefruit peels and add them to a large pot with water.
  5. Bring to a boil and simmer until the rind is tender.
  6. Add the sugar and the cheesecloth bag with seeds to the pot.
  7. Stir until the sugar dissolves and continue cooking until it reaches the jelly stage.
  8. Remove the bag and pour the marmalade into sterilized jars.
  9. Seal and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Adjust the sugar according to your taste preference.
  • For a smoother texture, blend the marmalade before jarred.
