- 4 large grapefruits
- 1 lemon
- 4 cups sugar
- 4 cups water
- Wash the grapefruits and lemon thoroughly.
- Slice the grapefruits in half and juice them, reserving the seeds.
- Put the juice and the seeds in a cheesecloth bag.
- Chop the grapefruit peels and add them to a large pot with water.
- Bring to a boil and simmer until the rind is tender.
- Add the sugar and the cheesecloth bag with seeds to the pot.
- Stir until the sugar dissolves and continue cooking until it reaches the jelly stage.
- Remove the bag and pour the marmalade into sterilized jars.
- Seal and store in the refrigerator.
