A delicious and rich French toast that mimics the flavors of crème brûlée.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf brioche bread
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Slice the brioche bread into thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Soak the bread slices in the mixture for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Place the soaked bread slices in a baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Sprinkle sugar on top of the baked French toast and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until it forms a crispy layer.
  8. Serve warm with syrup or fresh fruit.

Notes

  • For best results, let the bread soak overnight.
  • Ensure the sugar is evenly distributed for caramelizing.
