Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup green and red sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, warm the milk until it’s lukewarm. Add the yeast and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and melted butter.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and egg to the flour mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about an hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into equal pieces.
  7. Shape the pieces into triangles and arrange them in a Christmas tree shape on a baking sheet.
  8. Cover and let rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool and decorate with sprinkles.
