- 200 g butter
- 200 g sugar
- 200 g eggs (about 4 large)
- 200 g flour
- 100 g marzipan
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 200 g cherries (stewed or fresh)
- 1 pinch salt
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the flour, marzipan, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the batter into a prepared baking mold.
- Alternately layer the batter with cherries on top.
- Bake for approximately 45-50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
- Let it cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Best served chilled.
- Can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Great with a dusting of powdered sugar.
